The RGM-79SP GM Sniper II is a variant of the RGM-79 GM. The RGM-79SP GM Sniper II or SP2 for short, is one of the high performance GM units in UCGO. Since it is a high-tier GM units, it has 4 weapon slots (Since September Update) same as many other high-tier MS. It can used all the Beam Saber, Shell Weapon and most of the Beam Weapon which exclude the Blash Beam Rifle and the RX-79G Beam Rifle. Because of it's high critical, high accuracy and the capability of using Beam Sniping Rifle, it is widely used for long range sniping during Newman and Richmond warfare. The GM Sniper II also perform well in any PvP or PvE close range combat due to it's armor and dodge rate. It can be used in both space and ground which depends on the engine used (TR, TJ).

Depending on the player's preference, Most players who prefer sniping uses 710 Upgrades with 3E or 3D Engine. As for players who uses them in direct PVP, 404 or 224 with Lvl 3 B or C engines is mostly used. If possible L4 engines are also used to get more mobility.
